Service Learning and FutureSim™ Program

The Service Learning Program is one of Spirit of the Sun's future projects that is currently still in the developmental phase. The Service Learning Program will use hands' on service projects to help increase cultural awareness among elementary and high school students. The objectives of this program will be to:

• Foster understanding and respect between students of different cultures and backgrounds by providing opportunities to participate together in service projects

• Make a positive impact on the communities that need it, while simultaneously giving students the pride of accomplishment that accompanies serving others

• Allowing students to envision, create, and achieve a goal, empowering them to do the same with their own futures 

Spirit of the Sun's FutureSim™ initiative is a key component of the Service Learning Program.  FutureSim™ is a technology-based simulation software that gives children the opportunity to model alternative future lifestyles based upon their choices.

The software allows students to better understand how their choices will impact their lives, and ultimately, motivate good decision making.

Spirit of the Sun aims to promote the FutureSim™ program in conjunction with service learning projects to help students recognize their full potential within their communities.
